Incident Notification Process
Activating the Incident Response & Command Center

CEDA personnel are authorized to activate the Incident Response & Command Center (IRCC) when an incident exceeds site-level response capabilities defined in the location’s ERP and Incident Management Practice.

What is the IRCC?

The IRCC is a centralized team made of key functions (HSE, Operations, HR, Communications, Finance, IT, etc.) that coordinates and directs response to major incidents at any time, during or after hours.

When to Activate the IRCC

  • Fatality (occupational or non-occupational)
  • Life-threatening injury or multiple casualties
  • Medical event requiring extended scene control

Loss of Control/High-Impact Event

  • Fire/explosion beyond initial containment
  • Major spill or chemical release that is reportable or affects public/environment
  • External fire/HAZMAT response required

Evacuation or Major Disruption

  • Worksite, client facility or multi-crew evacuation
  • Major operational shutdown or prolonged interruption

External or Reputational Impact

  • Media interest or public attention likely
  • Regulator involvement beyond basic notification
  • Client escalation to major emergency status

  • Do NOT speculate or share personal opinions
  • Do NOT share photos, videos or documents
